Beginner Level 1

Day 1

The instructor introduces themselves and we get into the water. We start off learning to blow bubbles out of our nose in the water. Then we do bobs under the water, this is the beginning of rhythmic breathing. After that we walk in the water (where you can stand) to the other side of the pool using our rhythmic breathing and arms under the water. After this skill we use the kick stick to kick your legs in a prone body position.

Day 2

We review all of the skills you learned in Day 1, we start to have you push off the wall using a prone glide. Then after you do the glide a few times we have you add a kick to the glide. Then we move to our backs and we support you using the kick stick. Next we have you kick your legs while you are on your back using a prone body position.

Day 3

We review all of the skills you learned in Day 1 and Day 2 and we start to swim from one side of the pool to the other(short ways) using the prone glide and kick. Now you are ready to swim on your back to the other side. You may still need to use the kick stick to help you accomplish this skill. We also have you go under water to retrieve an object in the shallow end.

Day 4

We review all the skills you learned in Day 1 – 3 and we start to swim the long distance of the pool while flipping over onto our back. You are able to use goggles at this point and we have you retrieve objects from the bottom of the middle of the pool. We also work on entering the deep end from a jumping position.

Day 5

On Day 5 we have you take your swim test. You will jump into the pool with your shirt and shorts over your bathing suit and shoes on your feet. You will jump into the deep end and then swim to the other side and grab the wall. After you get out of the water you will then tread water with your clothes and shoes for approximately 10 seconds and then remove those items for the remainder of the lesson. We will have you then jump in the deep end again and swim to the other side (long ways) using the freestyle and backstroke methods that you have learned during the week.

All of Swim with Mr. Blue’s lessons are private one-on-one instruction and include five 30-minute-consecutive-day-sessions. For your convenience, we can come to your pool for the swimming lessons. If you don’t have a pool, we can schedule the lessons at one of our locations.

Price is $325 at our pool for 1 adult and $635 for second adult

Beginner Level 2 – B2

Adult B2 Level Swim Safe program will teach the following skills

  • Stroke development includes beginning arms and legs combined
  • Independent floating and rollover to front
  • Increased swimming distance
  • Independent jump and recovery back to the wall, stairs or ladder

Increased distance from wall of retrieving objects from the bottom

Beginner Level 3 – B3

Adult B3 Level Swim Safe program will teach the following skills

  • Front ready/back ready positions
  • Refined technique of arms and legs
  • Increased swimming distance
  • Independent jump
  • Prolonged float on back with rollover to front/streamline kick
  • Retrieve objects from the bottom with increased depth
  • Independent breathing

Intermediate Green Levels – Swim Skills

(Taught in group classes or private one on one)

Intermediate Level 1 – G1

Adult G1 Level Swim Skills program will teach the following skills

  • Bobbing with bubbles
  • Independent front breath
  • Independent Streamline and roll over onto back
  • Beginning freestyle with high elbow placement
  • Beginnings float and roll over
  • Beginning stages of freestyle arms and breath

Intermediate Level 2 – G2

Adult G2 Level Swim Skills program will teach the following skills

  • Bobbing and beginning breathing
  • Proper Arm Placement in freestyle
  • Side glide kick and breathing on side, Streamline kick and breathe on side exercise
  • Independent jump and prolonged back floating
  • Back streamline off wall with back shoulder movement

Intermediate Level 3 – G3

Adult G3 Level Swim Skills program will teach the following skills

  • Advanced freestyle with 3 strokes and alternate breathing
  • Flip Turns
  • Backstroke shoulder workout
  • Backstroke
  • Dolphin and breast stroke kicks
  • Continuous lap swimming

Advanced Yellow Levels – Swim Team

(Taught one on one)

Advanced Level 1 – Y1

Adult Y1 Level Swim Team program will teach the following skills

  • Rhythmic breathing – continuous bobbing
  • Streamline kick both front and back with kick
  • Freestyle and back stroke exercise in laps
  • Breast stroke break down
    • Breast stroke kick
    • Breast stroke arms and breath
  • Breast stroke complete
  • Treading water for one minute

Advanced Level 2 – Y2

Adult Y2 Level Swim Team program will teach the following skills

  • Freestyle and back stroke exercises
  • Breast stroke exercise
  • Streamline dolphin kick
  • Butterfly Break down
  • Butterfly laps
  • Treading for 1 to 5 minutes (changing body positions)

Advanced Level 3 – Y3

Adult Y3 Level Swim Team program will teach the following skills

  • Long distance continuous swimming of: Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly
  • Short distance racing: Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly
  • Individual medley swim training/Competitive swim training
  • Relay swimming
