South Florida Swimming

The summer sun is getting closer and families will be gearing up to travel for vacation. The water parks, beaches and oceans will be bursting with people ready to cool off with a dip in the water. Though swimming can be fun it raises a warning. Take precaution to make swimming safe this season. If you are a parent or guardian one of the first steps to swim safety is swim lessons. Swimming lessons are available for infants, children and adults alike. The certified swim instructors of Swim With Mr. Blue understand that Florida is currently in a drowning rate crisis. Southern Florida has the highest infant/child-drowning rate in the United States.

Julie Gross and her fellow certified swim instructors of Swim With Mr. Blue specialize in teaching young children how to swim and about water safety. By using a child oriented program with a book and puppet show along with memorization songs children learn to swim within five days. Children naturally learn through repetition and encouragement, which is exactly how the program was designed.

Swim safety is implemented throughout the swim lessons with firm safety rules but taught with comfort, care and gentle guidance. Swimming lessons such as these can benefit special needs children such as those with Autism. The comforting instruction and friendly swim instructors help even the shyest child to enjoy the water and learn life saving skills such as floating, breath control and swimming to the pool edge for safety. Swimming lessons are not a guarantee that a child will not drown. Instead swimming lessons are a precautionary tool that can be used alongside of other swim safety measures such as proper barriers and responsible adult supervision that can work together to keep children safe as they swim this summer.
